Future Tire made By Michelin

Radical new tire design by Michelin. The next generation of tires.
They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show.

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very
soon ..

The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on
these tires.

This is what great R&D will do, and just think of the impact on
existing technology:

  no more air valves
no more air compressors at gas stations
  no more repair kits
SCAN DOWN & SEE.
These are actual pictures taken in the South Carolina plant of Michelin.
It will be awhile before they are available to the automotive industry.

MP7 designed and manufactured by Heckler & Koch is a small submachine gun. It's main characteristic is that it was designed to penetrate body armor, although it is small and lightweight. NATO requested this high quality body armor penetrating machine gun and got MP7 which uses 4.6x30mm cartridge. Since 2001 when the MP7 was first manufactured NATO revised the weapon and upgraded it to MP7A1(redesigned pistol grip, side mounted rails for iron sights).
MP7 is merely a scaled-down assault rifle, capable of firing its special designed ammunition with the same velocity as the standard 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge, which is a common ammunition used today. Bullet does not only achieve the sam velocity but is also made out of hardened steel penetrator. With 950 rounds per minute and with 20/30/40-round box magazine it is perfect for close range combat. Due to its lightweight construction materials it can be fired either one-handed or two-handed. Top-mounted rail can provide iron sights and optical sights aswell as laser aiming module and flashlights.
It is currently used all over the globe by Austria, Germany, Ireland, Jordan, Norway, Oman, South Korea and United Kingdom.

M110 Semi-Automatic sniper rifle was designed to combine perfectly accuracy, firepower, light-weight and rate of firing in one single weapon.
It uses an instant kill 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition, the same as its predecessor M24. Manufacturer Knight's Armament Company tried to keep the M24's accuracy when designing the M110.
It also uses a very efficient sound and muzzle flash suppressor which can make all the difference in sniper missions where stealth is most important.
M110 uses the updated rail system design wth integral folding front 600 meter back-up iron sight. It has adjustable buttstock and uses
KAC's 30 mm scope. Another unique feature this sniper rifle possesses is a thermal optical sight which enables the shooter to see even through fog, dense smoke or at night.

This weapon is being used in the US army since 2009 and it is also being sold commercially under High Power Rifle Rules

hen the Northrop B-2 Spirit was first introduced to the public on November 22, 1988 people were astonished by the new futuristic and different look of the aircraft.
The B-2 was about to replace the F-117 Stealth bomber as it was like some say, just an improved version of the F-117.
The B-2 Spirit is a long-range bomber which was designed to avoid enemy radar without being detected during the Cold war. It could carry up to 16 nuclear bombs at a time.
The Stealth flying mode is achieved by the combination of reduced electromagnetic, visual, infrared, sound and radar signatures. The plane is also covered by the graphite-epoxy materials, which absorb the radar waves and help to its stealthiness.
With the crew of two (pilot, mission commander) the B-2 can carry up to 18 tons of weapons, mostly bombs and also nuclear bombs.
During the mission the B-2 can penetrate almost any radar system undetected, and fly deep into the enemy’s territory as it can fly in ranges up to 9650km/6000miles.
One of the B-2’s debut was in 1999 when two aircraft dropped 33 tons of ammunition on Serbian territory. It was a long 31-hour non-stop mission, which started in base in Missouri, USA. The B-2 has destroyed 33% of all Serbian targets during the war.
Cost for this bomber can be compared to the Space shuttle, as it costs around 1.2 billion US dollars.

Cell Phones May Cause Brain Cancer

TUESDAY, May 31 (HealthDay News) -- Cell phones may cause brain cancer, a panel of experts reporting to the World Health Organization (WHO) announced Tuesday.

After reviewing dozens of studies that explored a possible link between cancer and the ubiquitous hand-held phones, the experts classified cell phones as "possibly carcinogenic to humans" and placed them in the same category as the pesticide DDT and gasoline engine exhaust.

The panel determined that an increased risk for glioma, a malignant form of brain cancer, appears associated with wireless phone use.
Globally, it's estimated that 5 billion cell phones are in use. "The number of users is large and growing, particularly among young adults and children," the International Agency for Research on Cancer said in a news release issued Tuesday.
The IARC made the announcement in Lyons, France, based on the work of 31 scientists from 14 countries. It will present its findings to the WHO, which may then issue its recommendations on safe cell phone use.
Experts said children are especially vulnerable.

Children's skulls and scalps are thinner. So the radiation can penetrate deeper into the brain of children and young adults. Their cells are dividing at a faster rate, so the impact of radiation can be much larger," Dr. Keith Black, chairman of neurology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, told CNN

Until Tuesday's announcement, the WHO had said that cell phones were safe to use.
The international experts behind Tuesday's announcement met for eight days to review exposure data, studies of cancer in humans and in experimental animals, and other relevant data, looking for associations between cancer and the type of electromagnetic radiation found in cell phones, televisions and microwaves.

Dr. Christopher Wild, director of the International Agency for Research on Cancer, said this new paper is important "first and foremost just because of the large number of users worldwide that have access now to this technology."
Also, the scientists found notable gaps in the existing research, he said, which "suggest interesting areas of future research that will improve the evidence base which we have in order to make decisions about the usage of mobile phone in the future."

Responding to Tuesday's announcement, John Walls, vice president of public affairs for CTIA-The Wireless Association, a trade group representing the wireless industry said: "Today, an International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) working group in Lyon, France categorized radiofrequency fields from cellphones as possibly carcinogenic based on 'limited evidence.' IARC conducts numerous reviews and in the past has given the same score to, for example, pickled vegetables and coffee. This IARC classification does not mean cell phones cause cancer. Under IARC rules, limited evidence from statistical studies can be found even though bias and other data flaws may be the basis for the results.
"The IARC working group did not conduct any new research, but rather reviewed published studies," Walls added in a news release. "Based on previous assessments of the scientific evidence, the Federal Communications Commission has concluded that '[t]heres no scientific evidence that proves that wireless phone usage can lead to cancer.' The Food and Drug Administration has also stated that '[t]he weight of scientific evidence has not linked cell phones with any health problems.'"

There has been conflicting research in recent years on the health hazards posed by cell phones. As recently as February, British researchers reported that cell phones do not increase the risk of brain cancer.
Their analysis of data on newly diagnosed cases of brain cancer in England between 1998 and 2007 -- when cell phone use was climbing -- revealed no statistically significant change in the incidence of brain cancers in men or women, said the University of Manchester researchers.

There was a very small increase (0.6 more cases per 100,000 people) in the incidence of cancers of the brain's temporal lobe. That works out to 31 extra cases per year in England's population of nearly 52 million people, the researchers said

But the study authors also noted that cancers of the brain's parietal lobe, cerebrum and cerebellum in English men fell slightly during the study period.

The World’s Largest Feet on a Living Person is Peter Iroga

Peter Iroga of the Solomon Island have size 26 feet, and still growing. Some say Iroga has the largest feet in the world, bigger even than Shaquille O’Neal’s. Is this true? Is Peter Iroga the world record holder for the biggest feet on a living person? Sadly, no. Though he holds the record for the Solomon Islands, Guinness World Records has a different person in its list:

But Peter Iroga may still clinch the record if the growing continues. He suffers from a tumor in his pituitary glands that causes continues abnormal growth, If it is not removed and treated, Iroga will continue to grow and this will pose a risk to his health.

The world record may not be broken after all. Thanks to a generous charity funded surgery later this month. If all goes well, Peter Iroga hopes to be recognized in a different field the world over – as an NBA superstar.

2011 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport: World's Fastest Car Destroys Speed Record (Again)

Turn that bbq back on, pop that bottle of chamgpagne you've been saving, and strike up a tune because it's time to celebrate; the king has returned. It's official, the Bugatti Veyron is once again the fastest car in the world. We should clarify, a Bugatti Veyron is the fastest car in the world. This isn't your kid brother's Veyron, it's the all new 2011 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, and never has a car more completely lived up to that name.
At Volkswagen's Ehra-Lessian, the same track where James May forever erased his nickname "Captain Slow", chief Bugatti Test Driver Pierre Henri Raphanel climbed into the fastest office on four wheels and headed out onto the 12 mile oval. Guinness World Record officials were present as the Super Sport headed out onto the course. To set an official record you have to do a run in each direction, and they take the average. You have one hour to complete it, and no one can touch the car. On the first pass the Veyron SS passed at 265.91MPH (427.933km/H). On the second pass that speed increased to 269.81 MPH(434.211km/H), for an official average of 267.86MPH (431.072km/H).

The normal Veyron has a 16 cylinder engine that is fitted with 4 turbos, and makes 1,001hp, a figure immune to the word, "inadequate." But when we hear "turbo" we think boost. And when an engine comes from a factory with any amount of boost, our brain immediately wonders what fun can be had with more boost. Bugatti says several of its Veyron customers had been wondering the same thing, so with the current production run coming to an end it seemed like an appropriate time to answer the question.

This orange and black teleportation device before you is more than an over-priced boost controller. Bugatti improved on every piece of the Veyron, the common word being "bigger." Bigger turbos and intercoolers, larger springs, thicker sway bars and enlarged front air intakes. The result of their engine-building encore is 1,200hp and 1,106lb ft. of torque. I don't know if it'd be cheaper than dynamite, but they should use one of these the next time they need to demolish a bankrupt casino.

The body is now 100% carbon fiber, reducing weight significantly. And thanks to its new flush-mounted air intakes on the roof, it's more slippery too. Not only can it walk down any production car on the road, it has 1.4g of lateral grip to juke through corners as well. If the Veyron was a learjet, this is a MiG
